Warranty expiration question

I'm heading out of state to buy a f250 tomorrow, it was madatory that I buy a truck with a factory warranty on it so I can put the ford extra care powerstoke warranty on it. I asked the seller when the factory warranty was up and he said April 2011, but I asked what the manufacture date was on the sticker and it was may 2005. Does the ford factory warranty start at the manufactured date or the when the original owner purchased it brand new from the dealer? I looked at the oasis report and the manufacture date says 5-31-2005 and a warranty date of 4-13-2006.
