Question edge ?

Im probably going to regret this but here it goes. Why does everyone dislike edge juice? I have been running mine for about a year now with no problems. Everyone says they trash tranny's why and how do they do that? To me its how you drive it. If your hard on anything something is going to fail imo. Mine has tranny controls like defuel settings, firmer shift settings. Now im wanting someone to explain in detail if they can why they are bad and why they trash trannys. What is the difference of edges tranny setting and custom tunes for a sct? Im thinking of getting a sct custom tuned. was just wondering why everyone has such bad things to say about them? I am not trying to start a war about this brand is better than the other. Just want some good hard information.

i had an edge programmer. i dint really like the way it shifted. the power was there though. and tune on the fly is really nice. if you drive like a civilized human you shouldn't have any problems i do love my sct x3. awesome power and shifting. it cant tune on the fly is the only downside. the reason everyone's against an edge is its very easy to tear your trans up

The power is why im thinking of going to sct. It just sounds like as soon as you put an edge on your truck you might as well kiss your tranny good bye. Why does everyone say the sct is so safe?

you will get a LOT more power out of an sct tuner with ID tunes. and the tunes stiffen up the trans to handle the power, sct does this 1000 times better then the edge could ever dream of. we need some more people to chime in.....

you get a good guy making the tunes and he can tell you and set you up right
and the tunes would be for exactly what you have or dont have done to the truck
but really the edge is past what i would do to a stocker . when i took of my heads i could see the edge was pushing the timing to far the pistons had marks in them where the injection lasted so long that the spray was outside the bowls .

The reason the Edge is so hard on the trans. is because it doesn't actually tune the trans. Technically, it doesn't tune the PCM either. All it does is intercept signals from the PCM and alters them through the module which in turn gives you the HP increase. The SCT actually removes the factory tune from the PCM and TCM and installs a completely new tune with all of the altered parameters. Doing it this way, it allows the tuner to tune the trans. and engine to work together which is much safer.
