2004 6.0 loosing coolant and steaming engine.......

Hi Folks,

I bought this 2004 6.0 250XLT that wasn't running.

in fact it had milky oil and no coolant......

We took the cab off and did the heads, bolts, delete & oil cooler!

Then i couldn't get it started so i gave up and went to the dealership here they charged my $800 to change the IPR valve.... : (

At that time they also told me that it had an external coolant leak from behind the front cover and they could fix it for an estimated $2000.

Does this sound right?

the engine is loosing coolant and when i stop it, it has steam coming from around the front cover area.....

He mentioned something about a gasket that can fail back there.

Has anyone every changed that gasket? mean i have to take the turbo, manifold off again?

Thanks!
