Please Help

In my 6.0l I am running about 8-900 degrees cruising on the highway at 70-75 mph is this normal. I have a 4" turboback (gutted cat) with a aero turbine muffler and hypertech stage three chip. I can hit 1200* no problem. Also when i put on my exhaust it seem to not drop my egts. I later gut my cat and that has not seemed to help either.

how big of a down pipe do you have on? also for a little better flow put a cat delete pipe in it and no muffler..... 800-900 degrees sounds about normal for that speed... that is what im usually at..... have you done the zoo dad mod yet? and also any intake yet?

just about the only difference between your truck and mine from what you discribe is the fact that you have 4" exhaust and i have 3.5" straight pipe with no cat and muffler. the only other difference is that i have a intake and zoodad mod. cruising down the road at the speed you describe my egts are about the same as yours but when i nail it and stay in it my egts barely get over 1200. im running a superchips flashpaq on the high performanc setting. something to think about maybe is not the normal egts but the overall highest temp reach when ya push it. i used to think that 800 or so was abnormal my self until i talked to the guys here.

yes, mine is in the left manifold right in the bend cause that was the easiest access to install it and seems to work great. before i upgraded my exhaust and intake i was getting 1600 in short burst. id never hold it there long just long enough to get a ricer at a red light but i could not stay in it. since then the egts are at a more managable temp.

well i am gonna try the zoodad and put a piece of screen from a screen door over the hole. I just have to figure out how to get my grill off. Did the zoodad lower your egts?

not really. i could tell a little power difference though cause of cooler air getting in the intake but that is only noticeable after ya going down the road and can get the ram air effect somewhat. but since ya dont already have an intake upgrade it mayhelp with the stock filter system. cooler air cant hurt nothin!!
