Remote start
I keep my truck in the garage and usually plug it in when it gets into the teens or lower. So if it's plugged in, and I start it from inside the house, how long can it sit there and idle before I need to unplug it, or does it even matter?

I dont mean to jump your thread but i was also wondering this because i have a engine block heater and was looking to get a Remote Starter. A question i would like to add to yours is how does that work with our diesel truck and their glow plug cycle? The 10-20 seconds of letting them warm the cyclinders up before starting.

Mine waits 10, 20 or 30 seconds to start to give time for the glow plugs to burn. I've never seen them run longer than 8 seconds on the coldest days so mine is set to start after 10 seconds. What's also nice about it is I have the option to pull in somewhere and take the keys out of the ignition, lock the doors and leave the engine running, till either I hit the button, or 20 minutes passes. Which is handy when pulling trailers.
