Diesel high miles

Im looking a buying a 2003 ford 7.3 powerstroke its for sale for 9000 but it has 228xxx miles on it. Everything looks in good shape and sounds good but the high milege scares me a bit.
What do you guys think about it ?

If it looks like its been taken care of, buy it. Is it 4x4?

yeah its 4x4 off road package interior is clean very clean outside minor scratches nothing major this is my first diesel so i dont wanna have a lot of problems with it but the miles just scare me a little bit is 228xxx high for a diesel how many miles do these motors usually last for ?

With the 4x4 and the 7.3, sounds like a good buy. If taken care of, that engine can go 500k. The tranny is the weak spot on the 7.3. They've usually had a tranny replaced by 200k. If its on the original tranny, you'll probably be in the market for one soon. But still thats a good buy.

228k, ha i'd buy it in a heartbeat as long as its been taken care of.
