clean your intake

i just had an egr cooler put on my truck under warranty because the line that connects to the oil cooler was leaking coolant and i asked the tech if he could clean all the egr gunk out of the intake. he said yes that he was going to do it anyway cause of my mileage. got the truck back yesterday and man it runs great (holy crap at the extra power) and it is a very noticable difference in power just having all that gunk cleaned out of the intake from the egr system. it runs better now than the day i bought it and it had 82000 on it when i bought it and now has 93000.

well they had to pull the turbo and intake off to get to the egr cooler. they said they used mean green cleaner and water. as for exact details of how and what they did to clean it i dont know. the tech said it comes off rather easy but in my experience on gas engines egr carbon is tough as nails to get loose but diesel soot is a different beast i guess.
