Anyone know how I can find out a detailed vehicle configuration from the vehicle's VIN? Can this be done online?
Thanks in advance. John T. |

all Vin numbers are required to be the same sequence for the first 11 digits, the last six are manufacturer specific. i posted below an example from an unnamed source for an 03 f-350 superduty. there are a ton of different codes so posting all codes for every modle for every manufacturer would be WAY too long....but this will give all superduty owners what the first eleven digits of thier vin mean.......Marc

Whoa, bro! That's some serious info you dug up!
What I was looking for was a more detailed information database of the truck itself. Dodge has a database that can tell you gear ratios, etc. just from giving them the VIN. I called the Ford dealer, and according to them, Ford doesn't have that available. One parts person claimed they did for something like '04's and later. |
