2003 6.0 diesel How bad are they

I'm looking at a 2003 f250 lariat with the 6.0 powerstroke. It's only got 24k mi and they're asking 25k. I've heard a lot of bad stories about the early 6.0's. How bad are they?

Not all are bad, that's the only answer. Get the dealer to run an Oasis, get a Carfax and.............make the right choice.

It's a report detailing the work that has been performed by a Ford dealer to said truck.

Not all are bad, my dad just traded off his 03 6.0 with 92k miles. Never had any problems with it, used it everyday on the farm and driving to work.

Are the later 6.0's Better?

I'm shopping around and am steering away from the 03's since it looks like there were a lot of problems in the early production years of the 6.0. But the 06/07's were pretty good weren't they. How do they compare to the 6.4's in the 08-10's?

if u got the extra money go for the 6.4, less problematic then the 6.0's, ive heard to many storys on head gasket and egr problems so i recently went with the old 7.3....how ever i still know of a buddies dad who had to replace the block on his 6.4 with fairy low miles on it cuz it cracked and he doesnt tow to much with it, and my uncles truck has the 6.4 and smells like coolant after being driven for the last year and ford keeps replacing stuff but it still smells to this day and it has 89 thousand km, so like 50-60 something thousand miles? im not sure on the conversion exactly...but i know my friends dads truck had less then that, i got a other uncle with another 6.4 thats lifted and whatnot and driven pretty hard and has no issues at all with about 100 thousand km
