Ranger and B series diesels
Not sure if any of you will know this one, but i need to know what diesels were put in rangers and mazda b series trucks in the 80's. 1985 is the real year in question. I'm getting some conflicting info on what they are. From all the info i'm getting, rangers all used the Mitsubishi 4D55 turbo diesel. However for the '85 b series im not sure if its turbo or non turbo. I would think it would be turbo because the b series was nearly a twin to a ranger, but i can't find any solid info.
This is why i ask. http://limaohio.craigslist.org/pts/2132933229.html I want to put a diesel in my ranger but i want a turbo diesel preferably. I called the guy and asked him and he said it was naturally aspirated.

The Early Ford Ranger Diesel Engines
Not sure if this helps. Every Ranger enthusiast seems to want one, they weren't very powerful by any means, but very cool and hard to find. |

Thanks. I talked to that guy selling it and its actually out of an 83, so its a 2.2 Perkins. Anyone know how hard it would be to drop that in my ranger? Will the trans bolt up? Its a base model so i don't have to worry about A/C, cruise control, or power steering.
