Check engine light question?

I'm in the market for an 05-07 powerstroke and I plan on doin an EGR delete after I flush the coolant and replace that with the good stuff. I've heard that on those year trucks, doin the delete will throw a check engine light. I have and SCT XCAL3 programmer that I'm going to take off of my mustang once I sell it and was wondering if that programmer would be able to turn the light off.

Not real sure about the programmer but my 05 didnt have a cel after the delete.

Gotcha, I've heard that some do and some don't. My buddy have an Amarillo he put a delete on and his light is on.
