'97 Front Fuel Tank Sending Unit
I have replaced the sending unit twice on the front tank of my '97 F250 diesel and don't know why. After about a year or two it just shows empty. What can be causing this? I have 247,000 miles on my truck and never have had a problem with the rear tank. Can the sender be repaired? Where can I buy a new sender at a low cost? I am one of the millions of unemployed and try to keep my costs low. I would appreciate any ideas. What I do now is wait till I get about 225 miles on that tank and the switch, but I am getting tired of this.

were they getting gummed up? my back tank sender didn't seem to be working, it would peg out until almost empty and then drop clear to E...figured it was the sending unit or a bad ground, but read that they can gum up over time...have you cleaned the tank? i ran a can of Seafoam fuel additive and my gauge works again...dunno if this helps or not...good luck

Thanks for the Tip!
I will get some Seafoam and try it, can't hurt.
