Why do people want black smoke?

from my understanding it means unburnt fuel/lack of power. so why in the world is everyone so obsessed with making their truck smoke? Personally i hate it for reasons other than just unburnt fuel. I had an old 6.5 chevy that smoked and i couldnt keep the dually fenders clean from soot it was a pain in the @$$. So can someone please explain to me why its so "cool"??? cause i just dont get it

Because it makes us feel like were in our own special club!!! ha ha ha no one else can do it!! LOL actually sometimes smoke is inevitable with mods for power, but also sometime people like to blow smoke to show off a little of the mods they have done. I personally don't really blow that much smoke unless 1. someone really pisses me off and i feel deserves to be smoked out or 2 i'm back in the middle of no where dicking off with my friends but there are some people(mostly cummins) that just like to throw some big sticks on and not push the right amount of air to it to burn correctly and they think it's just awesome to black out the sky in the middle of the summer

No, it also a bunch of P/S drivers, they smoke also. I've seen my fair share that every time they touch the throttle, it pumps smoke out.
