2003 7.3 PSD or 2004 6.0 PSD?
All things being the same (except price), which one would you go for? Can get a pretty good deal on a 2003 7.3 with about 42,000 miles on it or for a few thousand more can get a 2004 6.0 with about 44,000 miles. Is it worth the extra money to go for the newer 6.0 or is the late model 7.3 a good motor. I have read about the problems with the 2003 6.0 and have decided to stay clear of that combination. Advice?

definately 03 7.3 ....the 03 6.0 as well as the 04 6.0 are early 6.0 models when all the kinks were not yet worked out and will give you a lot of trouble....definately get a 7.3 ...i have one and wouldn't get anything else...

Thanks for all the information. In the end, I have narrowed it down to an 04 model Lariat. It is basically loaded with sunroof, leather, power rear window, park sensor, captain chairs, etc for $33,500. It only has 23,000 miles and was owned by one of the mechanics at the dealer. He traded down for a new F150. Sound like a good deal?

Yeah but it makes you kinda wonder why he traded down.
Hopefully if you go with this truck it wont be an early build 6 oh and wont have any of the associated problems i.e. puking coolant from the hadgaskets.

I'd look at the build date on it!
