Navistar VT engine
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navistar_VT_engine
according to wikipedia, A high number of warranty claims (US$50,000,000 in two years) caused Ford to discontinue their contract with Navistar. i did not realize that they had that many problems with it. they also paid navistar 70,000,000 to end contract with early.. |

yep,
"A high number of warranty claims (US$50,000,000 in two years) caused Ford to discontinue their contract with Navistar to build a Diesel V6 and paying US$70,000,000 to Navistar as compensation for ending the contract. Ford considered Navistar rival, Cummins, before deciding to design this new Diesel V6, now known as the DT17, in-house." ford ended the contract for the V-6 psd. |
