Unhappy Can a computer go back to stock setting automatically?

I have an Edge Evolution and yesterday the truck seemed to go back to "stock" from the "extreme" setting. I was going down the highway, slowed for stop light and as i was accelerating i noticed i had no power. I have tried reprogramming every setting, even stock. Neither Edge or Diesel Innovations can tell me what's going on.

Welcome to Powerstroke.org! I'm no expert or diesel Tech but I DO know just a LITTLE about computers. It may not be the same as a truck computer but if you flash a PC it can't go back to a stock setting, or any other setting, without a re-flash. What kind of rig are you driving and lets see if we can dig a bit deeper into what might be the cause.

sounds to me more like you have an engine problem and not a programming problem.....does it feel like it has the power it should when you have it programmed to stock???........try pulling codes and also when you get back to us tell us what your rig is..........Marc

well fellas i believe i may have found the source to the problem. my dipstick is getting blown off its tube by blow-by. i'm guessing rings could be the problem. i'll take it the the local diesel shop and get a more positive answers there.
