breaks your trans....

It acts like a manual clutch. Once its engaged, you cant roll forward nor backward and as you press on the accelerator the engine can rpm as high as the torque converter will stall. Once the Trans-Brake is released, the power is transmitted immediately to the driveline like a clutch but with using the converter instead. I never seen one on a psd, but seen them on drag strip cars...

Works in the valve body. Most I've seen use a simple push button switch.

its a different valve body assembly with a special solenoid to hold pressure on (i believe 1st and reverse clutch) when a button is pressed...most people mount the button on the steering wheel or shifter.. it lets u leave super hard off the line and u usually accompany it with a two step rev limiter that is set at a certain rpm that u want to leave off of

yes..ive been told that the torqshift doesnt have a valve body rather a bunch of solenoids to control pressures instead of the old valve and spring type on the older trans

you wouldn't need to limit the rpm on a psd (I wouldn't think), you'd just leave at WOT, on the converter

I always figured you guys that race were using them, assuming it's possible with your trans. It should launch much harder. Someone has bound to of tried. Of course, it's going to slam your driveshaft, u joints, rearend, axles, etc., so it needs to be STOUT, esspecially given how much these things weigh
