lots of idling
hello all
first thanks for all the help I have already gleanded from these pages. Question: I am thinking about buying a 1999 F250 4wd, super cab. It only has 90,000 miles and seems to be in good shape (to my untrained eye). My concern it that the current owner bought it from a company that used it in the oil field on the north slope of alaska. I susspect that due to the cold temps these truck spend ALOT of time idling. Is this a bad thing? It does have a nice block heater and battery heat. So maybe it was plugged in at leat some. Any and all thought appreciated. I could get the truck for $13K, hows that sound? |

Price sounds high, even with those miles, i paid 11,800 for my 02 Supercab short box. Yeah its 2wd but its 3 years newer....

price doesnt sound to terriable i think we got 12000 for our early 99 and it had 160000 miles on it...one thing to check is the turbo fins see if they are chipped or "dusted" idleing isnt a problem if you ask me as long as they have oil pressure...(not like the old 318 detroits lol) other than that sounds like it will be ok for ya good luck
