04 excursion 6.0
Hey I am new to the forum. Friday I am trading my z71 for a 04 excursion with the later model 6.0 stroke. It has 100k and is super clean inside and out. Motor looks spotless. Anyway im only going to drive the truck about once a week cause I drive a beater to work. Im also going to use it on occasion to pull my 27 foot boat, which is the reason im trading. Just wondering on what yalls experience is with this truck and motor and also what kind of problems to expect and there cost. I would be lucky to put 7 to 10 thousand miles a year on it. Thanks for any help. ]
Btw before I had the chevy I had a 00 crew superduty with the 5.4 and besides gas it was a bad a truck and im glad to be back in one |

Have the vin # ran for what has been done to it. For towing and driving IMO you must do a Spring swap to V code front and modded B code rear. Add a 30mm rear F50 sway bar and correctly valved Bilsteins and it will drive and tow fantastic. Stock they suck.
I'd get guages and a CST with Cales tunes. Gut the cat and leave the intake alone. |

def get a oasis report to see what kind of parts were replaced at the dealer (if any)
once you get it install some gauges on it. doesnt matter if your not going to tune it you need to be monitoring your boost, pyro and trans temp... and yes i know it has a trans temp stock but it sucks and not accurate at all... other suggestions EGR delete TB exhaust Custom tuned SCT and if you have the cash ARP headstuds after all that you will have a damn nice Ex that you can count on oh and welcome to the Org -Raul |

Thanks Raul!
Few questions? I keep hearing oasis report... how do I get one? Also what can I expect price wise for studs? Also what would it approx cost me for the egr delete? |

you can get a free Oasis report on here if your a premium member...
studs are sheap.. you can get them for lil over 400 bucks but the install is what kills it.. easily over 2k for labor on instaling the studs.... EGR delete you can do yourself if your good with a wrench... this is the one we recommend: FCDP FUll EGR Delete hope that helps... let me know if you have any other questions -Raul |
