Should I buy a diesel?

I've always owned cars until last year when I bought an '87 GMC 4X4 so I don't have to drive my '97 Mustang GT when it snows. The problem is that I really don't need two vehicles right now but I've decided that I don't like trucks unless they can absolutely get with it when I want or need it to. It needs to be 4X4 and crew cab. I'm really not planning on towing at this point but that could change. I've read the issues that the 6.0 have had and I'm really not worried about having to work on one. I'm looking at the diesels for the fuel economy and power but do you guys think it would be a good idea?

I believe if you buy a diesel you can't go wrong. But in your case you probably shouldn't.
