Windshield sap/crud removal? What to Use?

Well my windshield must have sat under a sap spewing tree for a little while, or something worse. It has small imperfections that you can really only see in the right light. Its annoying and I was wondering if they make something you can just buff the window with a DA. Maybe a fine rubbing compound?

Vegetable oil works also, little dab on a paper towel and slowly wipe it off in a circular pattern.
