Dropping Fuel Tank

Before I can get back to my Sliders posts, I need to drop the fuel tank to attach support brackets to the frame.

What are some worthwhile mods I can do while it is off?

What maintenance items should I perform? Sock filter, etc.?

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!

yes there are two screens in the pickup. at the bottom of the pickup you wil see a cyl that is bigger then the rest that the bottom can snap in and out. pull that appart and there are two screens in it that can be cleaned. some people say to clean them and reinstall them, while others say to just get rid of them... its up to you on what you want to do.

Just a quick piece of advice, pull the bed off. It's alot easier than pulling the tank out and you will have all kinds of room for anything you want to do.

NOW YOU TELL ME!? Just kidding. I had to pull the tank for another project I am doing and just decided to do the harpoon mod while I had it on the ground. My son is fabricating a set of rock slider/steps and we needed to get (6) 1/2" dia. bolts thru the frame in the length of the tank. Dropping it allowed us to install them from the inside of the frame and tack weld 'em in.
