cat/delete question

I have an 06 f250, it is bone stock w/ 78,000mi. Is there any benefit to just removing the cat? If so will that throw any codes. Also, I did get a quote on a 4in. turbo/back magnaflow with sct x3 w/custom tunes. Quote was $1,476 installed, does that sound right. I live in Baton Rouge,la so if anyone lives in my area let me know who you deal with. Thanks for any imput.

I would say that's high. My programmer was around $485 with custom tunes, the 4'' turbo back exhaust from Farmboy's Diesel was less than $400 maybe close to $300, can't remember exactly. My truck never set off the check engine light with the exhaust so you should be fine. If your going to do exhaust and the state doesn't check for smog equipment you might as well do a turbo back otherwise the cat will limit flow due to it's pipe diameter.
