looking at a f250
hello i just joined this forum.
im looking at a 96 F250. 7.3 powerstroke. its got 266,000 miles on it. for $2990. i dont know much about diesels so i wanted to get some advice before i go and buy the truck. so basically all i need to know is. is it worth it? is the truck gunna last awhile since it has so many miles on it? and are the trannys durable in these trucks too? im probably gunna go look at the truck soon. is there anything i should look or listen for? thanks |

Hey man your new here to welcome every ones friendly here unlike other forums. To your question diesels will last a lot longer than a gas motor how ever transmissions do eventually wear out. Check the oil make sure its clean and seems to be well maintained. Check tranny make sure the fluid is red and not burnt or discolored looking. Why are they selling it? Just be nosy and ask as many questions as you can. Drive it make sure its not a shaker or a puller and use your instincts and NEVER PAY ASKING PRICE!
