DIESEL BUYING TIPS NEEDED

Im starting to look for another truck and have never owned a diesel. Ive always wanted a F-250 and ive heard people in the past that have said that "100,000 miles on a diesel is just breakin it in", so the question is, if i were lookin into buying a diesel whats yalls general opinion on how many miles is too many when buying a used diesel? (i know this is kind of a broad area but lets just say the vehicle is in GREAT shape)

on a powerstroke, if its maintained, you can see excess of 200,000 miles on an engine and even more. they are great engines
