Newbie here... Is this truck worth it?

Its a 1995 7.3. Its in near mint condition, has 78,000 original miles on it. The guys father who owned it used it to haul his camper that sat in the back of the truck (Its not very big). Hes said that they still have all the maintanence records, although I didnt get a change to look at them.

The truck cranks right up but its idling erratically. You can see it vibrating like a cylinder isnt firing right. When I drove down the road it had a lack of power. Other than that, It looked like it was well cared for. The guys father passed away and hes looking to unload it.

Now onto the questions since Im new to diesels:

1. He said he will take $4900 for it as it sits. I didnt negotiate, but he might go a bit lower. Does this price sound fair even with the idling issues?

2. Im wondering what the BEST and WORST case scenario of what could need repaired on it? Are we looking at $100 best case and a $1000 worst case?

Im looking to buy quickly and the guy didnt seem like he wanted to rush to take it to a repair shop.

Another question...

3. Hows the reliability of this year truck? Its hard to find good data on the internet about how the 1995's are after all these years. I know Fords early 90's wiring wasnt the greatest.
