Advice/Tips

Guys - I need your advice and tips. I test drove a 94 F-250 powerstroke today with 91,000 miles. Seemed to be a great truck. One issue - the change air filter lite is on, but the filter appeared to be new???? I really liked the truck, but I am skeptical and concerned about the mileage. I have left a message for the previous owner, but have not spoke with him yet. Any advice you give will be greatly appreciated.

That mileage is WAY LOW! And, make sure the filter minder (what triggers the light) has been reset.

Also, welcome to the .ORG from a fellow WV Powerstroke!!

^^^exactly what he said.

Dont be concerned with that mileage at all. That is a super low mileage truck. 7.3s are good for well over 300,000 with good maintainance (and thats a low statement, many are well over 300,000)

It is a 6.0. I am totally new to a Power Stroke. How would I reset the filter minder?

either its not a 94 or its not a 6.0. 6.0s first came out in 2003.

Its a yellow button on the side of the air air filter tube. looks something like this:

This isnt the exact one you'll see but very similiar.

Another

Ok guys - I need more advice. I decided to pass on the truck I initially asked about. Today - I looked at another 04. This one is a super cab powerstroke with 48,500 miles on it. Actually doesn't seem quite as nice as the other truck, but has almost half as many miles. As I understand it, the warranty is 7 years 100,000 miles???
