late 99 stalles and dies

my f350 stalled out , so i changed the filter, it did it again, so i put on a lift pump, did it again, it puts the service light on till the key is turned off, let it set over nite and got a code reader. put it in the shop run it a hour run around the block then the black top, nothing ,went and feed the cows still fine thought it fixed it self then bam putting down a back street stall, just let it die so i could reed the code, no code, started right up and run fine. this is a chore truck and i doesn't open up the throttle much, unless muddy the been dusty most all winter. is my exhaust sensors pluged up?

you should try again to get the code to read, put this is classic behavior for a Cam Position Sensor failure. THis sensor monitors whether the camshaft is turning and is known to go bad on 99-03 PSD's. There's an article on here somwhere about how to replace it...its not too bad to do yourself...good luck.

still could be a cam sensor....also could be an IDM.....seen this exact same concern with low oil levals too.......i would first check the code that is stored in the PCM.....thats the place we want to start. if its a cam sensor code replace the sensor agian. if its not....get back to me and ill walk you through some other tests.......Marc
