This is the post I've been waiting for. This is basically my entire rant in a nutshell. Thanks, Dunes.

I do agree there is too much product bashing............it has always amazed me how there can be so many "proven" products that work, not for everyone but they do work.

I will use oil for example, I mean my gosh all of them work and yet we have a tendancy to think there is only ONE.

But, that is what the manufactuers want................PRODUCT LOYALTY.

BTW, as Granny said it's nice to see a civil "bashing" thread.

I agree 100%. & to add to the "only ONE oil" example, most people go by what they read/heard someone else say. They wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Oil Brand A from Oil Brand B if they were labeled as such. They just need to go ahead & do the trial/error, research/development method; with oil, performance products, ANYTHING, & get some hard numbers they obtained themselves instead of jumping on the BBB(Brand Bashing Bandwagon).

As stated earlier, Banks and Edge were my intro into the world of Diesel Performance. First thing i ever bought from Banks was a Turbo kit for my 88 7.3 back in the early to mid 90's. Since then ive ran the Six gun, waste gate actuator, OBS IC kits etc... and the Edge Evo 1, evo 2, Juice/attitude. Have i Bashed these brands and products? Yes i have but only the ones i have had personal experience and dissatisfaction with. Ive ran these Brands on the IDI 7.3 and the 7.3, 6.0 strokers as well.
I havent had any major problems with either brands except for tuning or lack there of for the transmission. Point being through EXPERIENCE with the products i have the Right to voice my opinion on the Parts. There is a difference between bashing and suggesting an alternative option to people based on there needs or uses for the vehicle in question.
The problem i see more so as mentioned earlier are the post from people who have no experience with the manufacturer at hand. This "bashing" is just not involved with banks, i see it in many posts. People that have no clue as to what could be causing a problem the OP is asking about, which leads to confusion especially to people whom are not familiar with diesel engines etc... The concept is easy, IF YOU DONT KNOW DONT POST! I am by no means saying that its unacceptable to post an idea or probable cause relating to any said problem, but these reply's should be based on experience, Not just some Jo Blow with no idea.

Im done venting about this now, I've just seen too many OP's get confused by improper information being posted. Sorry for the long post

I hope so....that guy was a 37yr old firefighter that sounded like a 12yr old 6th grader. Talk about bashing: remember that guy's post that was completely trying to put down Raul? I also read a couple of his posts on different threads & he sounded like a . Yeah..........I hope so.

Meh.

You people better not get too cuddly with this "woe is banks" crap. More than one of us have been screwed over by them. So far, we've bit our "collective" tongue.

BUT... I do agree, there is a bunch of people that DO NOT or HAVE NEVER owned banks products that jumped all over them.

Who's getting cuddly? I'm using Banks as the biggest example because I have a lot of Banks equip on my truck, am tired of hearing the bashing(for any brand), the .Org lost another sponsor that was "paying their rent", & those who have Banks products lose more & more support from certain members & also loosing Banks on the .Org. I'd put a bigger plug in for Edge or BullyDog if I knew more about them, but I tried. It's not a "woe is Banks" crap; it's a "woe is any member who needs any support from any brand that's frowned upon".
