I agree.

It would be nice. I just don't see how you can do it here.

A company I worked for a few years ago did exactly what your talking about. They took all of the people out of the field that had tech experience and put them in an office. They created a forum and anyone in the field that may have had a problem could not call the tech and ask them what to do. They actually had to either search the database for the problem or post the problem on a ticket. The tech would then research the database and find the problem that may have already occurred or begin research on a higher level and then let them know what to do. Depending on how you rate the problem beepers would go off for certain levels of support.

This program required the company to supply laptops to a lot of employees that never had them before and could not even use them. It also required each crew to have a satellite uplink to Houston where they would be on the network from the remote field location.

All of this was implemented in one year after our company was bought out by the company with the idea. After that year the company shut down all US operations because of losses. It was the highest income year in the history of the company.

The database was built by workers posting prior problems and how they are to be solved. Everyone was expected to post all of their knowledge to the database as part of their jobs. The information was not available to everyone as it was posted like it is here. The ticket was submitted. The people known as champions were to review and verify all information and post it to the database as a valid procedure or problem solving solution.

Verified information comes at a high cost. Also it is true that some people may know more about something then someone that has it.

Here we just have to make our own decisions and filter out the garbage posts.

And yes, there is the obvious and the not so obvious. I still can't see a way to stop the posting but as I said these things take care of themselves by way of other people posting in the thread and discounting the false information or in some cases the not so common or solvable problem with a product or service.

As for the intakes yes, you can get flow data on most of them and you can see one is better in that respect. This does not mean you need it or that it will make a difference. It will only help if you currently have one that is maxed out. The console and filter tattle tale, or a drop in boost will let you know. So a $40 element that lasts a lifetime may be all you need or you may not need anything. Some claims are made about cold air, flow rates and such as this. Still does not mean you need it. The stock box is not drawing air directly off of the exhaust manifold as they would like you to believe. They do not make direct claims that the intake air will be x degrees cooler. Maybe they are comparing theirs to an open element in the engine compartment. They do not state this to be the case until you ask directly.

That is what it all boils down to. You are responsible for your own decisions. If you are stupid enough to buy a product because of a couple uninformed opinions you find on the internet, then you deserve what you may get. Do some more research and use some common sense.

BTW, thanks for making me look up monolithic.....
