IDM failures are more common than not on a 7.3. Most are caused by moisture actually there are other ways. But your chip had NOTHING to do with your IDM going out

Corey the tow capacity between a 250 and a 350 is the same until you get to the 350drw.

Do you know what the actual difference between a 7.3 equipped 250 and 350 is?

8200lb's you can pull that with a half ton legally. Stretch that things legs once. Ive had 15k or more behind my 7.3 and my 6.0
I don't have anything heavier than the 8200# trailer I pulled. But even @ 8200, my rear was a lot lower than the front, so it had to have been a significant amount of weight. I don't usually tow too much, man, so I can't really go any further in this arguement.

Understandable man. Just to clear something else up. The difference between an f250 and a 350 is mainly the block in rear suspension. 250's use a 2.5 in block 350's use a 4 inch block.

You can order different rear spring rates between the two as well. My 250 has the same setup other than the block as the heaviest 350 srw you can get

Gotcha! I actually did not know this, I just thought by looking @ 250s & 350s, the 350s had extra leaves. Believe it or not, some people think my truck's a 4x2 for some reason because of it's height. It seems every 250 4x4 is a hair taller than mine. I just don't get it.

You probably have a light duty spring package. Check your door sticker. Whats your GVWR say?

Not sure of any of their new stuff but I put their Sidewinder kit on the 93 IDI that I had and it was night and day difference! Loved that truck. JJ
