What is everyone seeing for typical flat land freeway driving at around 65 to 70mph? My truck hates to stay in 6th even at 1600rpms and will always downshift with even the slightest throttle input. Boost is usually around 2 or 3lbs at 70 on flat ground. It will shift out of 6th at 5lbs at a slight roll on the throttle. I could have sworn the truck used to build more boost in 6th.
I usually never see more than 2-3 lbs empty while cruising and 5-6 when towing but mine is in the same boat as deerhunter mine does not down shift till till im at 55%+ load and 10+ PSI of boost
Ya something sounds wrong. My boost stays between 5-8 psi at 70 mph on flat ground. And about 16%-19% engine load.
And it Wil stay in 6th gear unless I really lay into the throttle.
At 70 mph pulling 8% grade My truck stays in 6th gear, builds 17-22psi boost. @ about 35%-40% engine load.
Mine like the others on here. Pulling my bass boat this morning I noticed it get up to 12-13 boost and still stayed in 6th gear... Couldn't be your tow/haul button pushed in huh...:dunno:
