f450 ?

My dad is looking at ordering a 15 f450. It will prob be a lariat or kr. My question is, are the 450 trucks setup win less power. Seems like I read that the older ones were . I haven't really found an answer on the 15s yet. Thanks

Ok. I think that's what I read but was unsure if they may have just carried that over to the others.

F-450 pickup is the same HP and TQ as a F-250/350 pickup

Same power, but I'm pretty sure the speed is limited due to the tires.

Speed is limited, I want to say 87 or 90 mph. It is due to tires but I suspect may ultimately the owner may not wish to go that fast given the suspension .

These things can always be defeated. I am using it to tow a Voltage 3950 toy hauler and I believe my Continental J-rated tires have a 78 mph top speed.

The tires are rated for 87mph. We'll see what the truck is actually governed at.

Also, ford says the there will be an F-450 specific powerstroke engine calibration, but it'll have the same 440/860 rating. Know one seems to know what the special calibration is about.

From what I heard, the whole reason Ford turned the F-450 into a F-350 Tow Boss in 2011 was because people complained about not being able to exceed 81 mph.

Some jackasses have to ruin it for everybody I guess.
