She's home..at last

Well I went down to the dealership today to pick up the beast after over 2 months of waiting for her to get built. After 3 hours of dealing with Ford's financing dept, they finally got me done. I wanted an 84 month loan to lower the payments a bit. With Ford financing it is 72 months. It's all good. All in all I ended up with 4,250 in rebates...2500 current rebate, 1000 Ford financing rebate and 750 Ford cash rebate. So far I've been driving her around a bit mostly with a very heavy foot. It had 32 miles on it when I picked it up. It has 90 now. It seems to get about 18-19 on the hwy if I keep it at 65. Now average is like 12-13 because I've been idling a lot and really punching it. This thing has some guts. Pretty dang happy so far.

I would say my only complaints so far:
-Definitely doesn't sound like a diesel...for now at least hahaha
-The head rests on the rear seat are huge and obstruct the back window. My 2006 F250 I actually prefer better with the small head rests and visibility is way better.
-A/c could be a whole lot cooler. It was 102 here today but it still didn't feel icy cold.
-A/c seats only do bottom seat part...come on Ford really? On top of that it doesn't really get very cold. My buddy's 2006 Escalade seats get freezing both bottom and back part.
-The light output on these headlights sucks. I can see a HID or LED retrofit in the very near future.

Other than those small things I really like it so far. Thank goodness it looks like I got one of the motors that gets good mileage but it's still a little early to tell.

Here's a few pics. Going to get the front windows and front windshield strip tinted on Monday. Thing definitely needs a little more bass but the stereo actually isn't half bad. Next thing is the lift, tires, and wheels..lol

Thanks guys..

Haha **** I was thinking about just sleeping in the truck tonight.

Actually looking at the pics, I need to get rid of the ugly orange things inside of the headlights and the orange on the mirror blinkers.

It looks good now, but I'm looking forward to seeing your mentioned plans for the lift! I have smoked mirror lights laying around if you're interested. I had Recon clear ones, switched to Recon smoked ones, and now I'm back to clear ones but they are made by Putco...

Beautiful truck Sir! Happy to see you finally got it. It is the right color too! What color interior did you go with?

I still gaze at my truck in the driveway all the time. Once you go black, you don't go back! At least that's what my ex-girlfriend says...
