GPS update

Received a invite to update my mapping for my in dash GPS of course they want $145.00 to do it. Has anyone else received this as well? I tend to use my phone more than the in dash. I have a 2012.

An invite from who? Is it for updated maps or for making the truck's GPS location consistently accurate? $145? You would think either one of those updates comes standard with the navigation package...

The company that Ford uses for their maps.....You would think we would get free upgrades of maps but that is too much to ask.....

It sounds like a scam to me. I thought they were suppose to update themselves? Maybe not though. Either that or every 6 months. I can't remember...

It wouldn't even be worth $145, unless you lived in an area with new development. I don't even use the damn thing because half the time it shows me driving through a building or lake...

I just got mine in the mail as well.
$149 is the sale price after $50 off through Sep 30.

My truck is a 2011 so this update might be for the 2011 and 2012s only. The older style nav unit

I was under the impression that the cost of the updates was part of the truck price aka it was included. I think I read that online syncmyride.com or something.

Sounds fishy.

Ya I might call my dealer and see if they Will throw it in. No charge. But I won't hold my breath.

I think in the details it says it will now show speed limits on all roads, not just freeways and major highways.

Updated roads and routes.

And can't remember the 3rd thing.

I'm debating if it is worth $150

What year is your truck? If you have a ' 13+ there is a update that fixes the problem you are describing. Our '14 just got fixed. It always showed the vehicle was driving on another road parallel to the one we were actually on or just plain not even on a road.

Knock on wood in my '11 KR I've never once had an issue with my nav

Great news! Mine is a 2013. Did you have to go the dealership to fix your '14 or were you able to update through USB?
