Does this sound normal?

I ordered a 2015 F250 mono platinum white king ranch the beginning of June. I have not gotten a VIN yet and called the dealership today and they don't have one either. The salesman told me that it is scheduled to be built this week and the truck should be shipped by July 24 and at the dealership by the 29th. This will be my first ever ordered truck and I'm curious to know if this sounds right. I've noticed some guys on here to already have their VIN numbers and actually ordered their trucks a couple weeks after I did.

It could have something to do with it being a monoclimatic King Ranch. I heard they were on back order or something like that. I would check back with the salesman and simply tell him you'll break both of his legs if the truck isn't there on the 29th...

A VIN is assigned well before a build date. There can be no build date if no VIN, NOT POSSIBLE.

There are no shortages, the mono has the same Chrome bumpers as a Chrome Package, nothing special about it.

I just find it hard to believe that the truck will be delivered by July 29th if it's not even started to be built yet or doesn't have a vin

Get it by the 29th, yea right. Sorry but if there is no vin assigned yet, I just see it happening. Best of luck to you.

Will the dealer tell you what the order number is? If so, you can take it and pm Crystal/FordService on the thedieselstop and she might can tell you more info about the truck

Yes, if you got money down the dealer should give you a copy of the order confirmation. There you can get your order number. Then go outside at the dealership and get the dealer code off of a window sticker on one of the trucks on the lot. Then go home and use this link ( http://www.cotusb.ford.com/ ) to track you order. The truck I got arrived at the dealership about 24 days from the day the factory started to process the order.
