Operator Commanded Regeneration II

The question is...can this be added later. Found a truck on the lot that is almost identical to what I would order except for color, OCR, and gooseneck hitch. Color I'm OK with, gooseneck and wiring can be added. The OCR I don't think would be a deal breaker, but I am curious. If it could be added, it would be a deal cincher for sure. I do a mix of short trip/long trip, so I am thinking that the manual regen would be handy.

Nobody knows... Well, we'll not let it stand in the way of buying a truck.

our 2012 f450 does alot of short trips and towing and weve never had a problem. i couldnt imagine you putting your truck through more stuff than this one goes through. just buy the truck and drive it. let it do its thing and you will be fine!

Thanks. Like I said, it certainly isn't a deal breaker. This truck I am looking at is almost exactly how I would order one except color and it is my second choice as far as that goes. I think I would rather have a B&W gooseneck hitch anyway, so I think it's gonna be a go.

Where there is a will, there is a way. It should be able to be added, but more costly. Or you can do it with a CTS and get gauges too! I say pull the trigger and enjoy it. You may find that you don't need the OCR after all.

Did it. Dealer is doing a trade for this one.

This can be done with a CTS? I had the CTS on my 6.0 and was thinking that it was pretty much read only except for DTCs. If it can be done, then that would be the way to go...if I even need it.

Nice and congratulations on the new truck! The CTS is capable and you should be able to update the one that you have to work on a '14. There are a couple of threads on here about it but I have not tried it, and am not able to either.

Thanks! I'd have to get a new one. I let the other one go with the truck since I let the tuner go with it too.

We have crew trucks that sit around idling 24/7 in the winter time only to haul 6 guys back to camp when their shift is over. They don't have operator commanded regen and we really haven't had any issues with them. I don't think it's a necessary feature, IMO.
