Question Serious Question....2014 or 2015?

OK, I'm planning on buying another truck in the VERY near future and retiring my 6.4 to a play toy instead of daily driver. Do I find a 2014 for a killer deal, or just order a 2015? Are the upgrades / updates worth the cost difference? Does anyone one have some real world hand calculated MPG on the 2015's? I have read and heard some people complaining about MPG's, but I also heard that a flash (TSB), fixes the problem?

Thanks!

I don't know the MPGs on the 15s, but I'm sure Blwnsmoke will let you know how his is doing. I think its a matter of how healthy your wallet is. If money is no object go for the 2015 as I'm sure you won't be let down with the power and improvements. The 2014s can be had at a discount due to the release of the 15s. Its up to you, good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks guys, anyone else? What are the major differences between the 2014 and 2015? Is it the big of an update that warrants the 2015 over the 2014?

I'm averaging about 16.5 mpg right now over the lifetime of the truck (2,000 miles). Driving is about 50/50 city/highway right now. I will be filling up tomorrow morning and think i'll be hitting 17mpg this tank but won't know till tomorrow.

Major changes - Larger turbo, tweaked injectors, upgrade fuel pump, more hp/tq, stronger transmission i.e. torque convertor, rear axle changed (no shutter on take off).

Getting a 2014 is a smart move if you care about cost. But remember that you are getting the last of the original 6.7 motor. No upgrades or changes with it.. it's dead.

The 2015 has the upgrades I listed plus it's the beginning point of the Ford reflashes for higher hp/tq increases in the future.

My recommendation is to ge the 2015 but it has to fit your needs and your wallet.
