Woah! Will these even be legal?

My Flo Pro Race Pipe and Flo Pro Turn-Out Exhaust Tips came in today! I wanted to replace my MBRP Dual Exhaust Tips and I thought these Flo Pro "Turn Out" exhaust tips would work well given that they were reversible and the tip's edge would sit parallel with the sides of the truck bed. I was aware with the 22" length description, but I was simply shocked when I saw them in person.

If I were to attach these Flo Pro tips to my MBRP Duals as is, it would stick out a foot from the rim of the truck bed. Aside from them being in harm's way from anything ejected from the rear tires, will these exhaust tips even be legal?

If I needed to cut the exhaust pipe back to make a reasonable fit, would I compromise any function of the exhaust given that there are small ribbed ports at the end of the exhaust where the current exhaust tips attach?

Or maybe I can angle cut part of the actual exhaust tip?

I think what you have now looks great. If you're set on using the new ones I would cut exhaust pipe leading to the tips instead of the tips themselves.

Protrusion of that amount would be hideous...I'd definitely try to cut something.

I'm thinking about doing a temporary install of the 22" exhaust tips right now just to see how ridiculous it looks and to maybe snap a few photos...

I would have stuck with my current exhaust tips which came with the MBRP dual exhaust kit, but I'm not a fan of seeing "MBRP" in raised lettering on both sides of each tip. I don't like company logo's on anything I own.

I really wanted an exhaust tip that had two exits on each tip, but I couldn't find any other than the factory exhaust tip. I'm not sure if the stock exhaust tip is a 4" inlet or not. If so, maybe I'll buy someones's unused factory exhaust tip in the future and use it and mine to replace my dual exhaust tips.

Yeah I'm with you on the logo/lettering issue...I might've tried grinding off the lettering and re-chroming for a few bucks...or painting them black w/ high-temp paint.

Let us know what you end up with!

Yeah I'll figure out something with these Flo Pro Turn-Out exhaust tips. I'll probaby trim enough to have the Flo Pro tips stick out 4-5 inches past the MBRP tips.
