Anyone run Lucas Oil Additive?

I am thinking about putting this in my gasser to help with cold starts since it has 200K+ miles on it. I was thinking about putting it in the 6.7 to prevent wear issue since this stuff clings to the metal and would prevent metal on metal until oil is circulated. I also thought it would be a good test for the typewriter noise issue, maybe this additive will stick to whatever is making the noise and fix it, who knows.

My gasser burns about a quart every 3-4K but doesnt smoke and has been well taken care of. I am hoping this will prevent this issue on the 6.7, maybe not.

Apparently using it around the web has mixed reviews...

Wanted to get ya'lls thought on this.

Your 6.7 does not need it if your using a good quality oil. If you have a properly balanced oil in the first place any oil additive is useless. Spend your money on the right diesel additive since your constantly getting different fuel from different places. You out high quality oil in its there until you change it and replace it with new high quality oil

If you can stick w/ a lower viscosity W rating (like 5 instead of 10 or 15), that will assist with your cold start oil flow. Synthetics also help with "clinging" and viscosity change elimination, plus the lack of viscosity improvers to break down.

I recommend Castrol Elixion 5W30 full synthetic diesel engine oil to Texas customers looking for a better oil, extended drains, cold-start performance, wear protection, and better MPG (up to 4%).

I personally use Castrol Tection 15W40 in our fleet, because it is very strong and is well-suited for heavy-duty/demanding applications. We drive all around Texas and Louisiana, sometimes off-road, lots of idle time, and plenty of heavy hauling.
