Would you buy??

I found a 2011 f250 lariat SC with 130,000 miles all highway miles. The owner said the only problem was he had the steering wheel shimmy which was fixed by replacing the front shock. He just bought a new f250 so he wants to get rid of this one. I finally talked him down to 28k.

But I am hesitant about buying a truck with 130,000 miles that the engine has not had a lot of time to prove itself with high miles. So would you buy this truck?

P.S. The truck is flawless and looks like it was well taken of.

Good morning, personally I would think 130k miles is enough to prove the engine? Just out of curiosity, what mileage is good proof?

With no other info, it sounds like a nice truck.

That just seems like a mess load of miles for a fairly new truck. Thats around 3600 miles a month. Do you happen to know what the truck was doing to rack up those kinda miles?
My 05 has got 114,000. Dont get me wrong 130k on that 6.7 if maintained is nothin. Just worry's me how they got there so soon.

When my wife was in nursing school at UNLV I would drive from sacramento to las vegas every chance I got in 3 months I put 18,000 on the truck I had at the time. I have 3 2011 6.7s that come into my shop with over 115k on em and they are fine and you wouldn't know they had the mileage on em without looking at the odometer the only thing you may possibly have to worry about is a turbo and in the grand scheme of things that's not to horrible.

They used the truck to commute back and forth from work is what he told me.

I don't know man. Have you thoroughly test driven the truck yet? Could you maybe inspect the engine block? You may be able to find a better deal for 28k...

These engine are new and you don't see a lot of people driving them to 300,000 miles and talking about the little things they did to get there. It seems everyone trades them in once they get to the 150,000 mile mark.

It would help if you had a little proof that services were performed on the truck consistently... That would be my biggest concern, at least oil change intervals.
