Question Anyone Using This Antenna

I was wondering if anyone is using this antenna? I learned about it on a Raptor forum. I hardly use the FM radio anymore and I cannot stand the damage this antenna did to our garage opening, not to mention seeing and hearing it slap in garages. I did try a taller aluminum type but at highway speeds there was an annoying whistle, I also tried cutting it down and replacing the ball and that did not work so well either.

Just looking for a little feedback and maybe a picture of their fit on our trucks.

The Stubby Antenna

Thanks!

I would be interested in getting one of these. It looks like an upgrade over the stock antenna for sure.

Nice idea, I hate the standard antenna also. Tired of it banging the garage door while backing in and out. Starting to wear the black off the tip. The stubby would be nice if it would fit were the original one was. I can't use it on the roof since I only have a little over an inch clearance getting into my garage.

I have one that I bought at o' Reilly's ...it's about 12 inches long, works fine. Looks just like the one the OP posted just a little longer. Def better than the factory fencing sword...

I have the antenna the OP linked to.

It looks great but reception is not very good. I don't care as I listen to Sirius 100% of the time. Bought the stubby just to get in the garage without the stock one banging around.

Mine broke off my rig last time they replaced my windshield. It was rusted out at the base for some reason and I told the guy not to worry about getting me a new one since he's buddy and I use my XM all the time anyway. Just for grins I called the Ford House to price a new one and about had a stroke with the PRICE. I'd MUCH rather go this route even if it's not as good reception wise over OEM.

How does the antenna fit with the base? Is there a gap? If you have any close-up pictures to post that would be very helpful.

I was also wondering if a Ford Focus antenna would work in place of our long existing one. If anyone knows if they both have the same thread pattern that would also be helpful.

Thanks!

Looks cool, but to be honest if your not gonna listen to the radio, I'd just go on eBay and buy a cheap one...,I think I paid 10 bucks for mine and looks great, and works ok...
