Been running MotorCraft 10w 30 in my 2011 f250 crew cab since new, now have 45k on my 6.7, was thinking of switching to Shell Rotella either a synthetic blend 10w 30, or full synthetic 10w 30, or the recommended full synthetic 5w-40. I pull 7 tons of trailer loaded with skidsteer loader off and on, lot of idle time, off road on the beach, mixed highway and local travel. I have never run Rotella in any of my construction equipment, I have mainly been using Conventional Kendall oil back in the day and now Conventional Castrol extratection oil 15w - 40 in my old 2000 f450 ford and in my Kenworth Caterpillar motors and skid loaders with much success. Let the discussion begin, suggestions on what to use on this 6.7,. Do not know what works best with this 6.7.

I run rotella t6 in mine,and by no means do I call myself educated on the subject!! but what I have read is 10-30 was more for fuel saving. if you read about extreme duty classification I think everyone hits it at some point. my dealer has a check list on the ford computer and he says if he checks one , it extreme duty and run 5-40. not that I totally belive him but the one facter for me was that 5-40 is good for any condition any temp. that leads me to belive that's what ford designed the motor to run on.
