Ford Denied Warranty Claim Please Help !!!!

I have a 2012 F350 King Ranch FX4 20k miles 6.7 I had a power folding mirror stop working on driver side. I took it to ford dealership for warranty claim and DENIED because there was a pencil eraser size black mark where either a rock hit it or someone opened there mirror on it. First off neither could have caused a mirror to break. Its intermittent and second I thought this is a Heavy Duty truck. $65,000 dollar truck and this is the customer service you get. I have owned 8 SD trucks and have never had this happen before.

I called Ford Customer Service today and they told dealership to resubmit pictures. Who knows what they submit. A picture that makes this minor mark look huge and a issue or actual size. Any suggestions if they deny claim again. Im 100% that the mirror stopped working and not because something hit it.

Any help appreciated

Since I posted this and copied this from another post and forum. Ford has denied claim twice from same dealer. It was obvious dealer has failed to take any effort to help me out.

Keep complaining, demand to have it inspected by Ford field rep.
That's nothing but a blemish, if it was hole or cracked ok I could see the denial.

Wow, I am surprised by this. I'd be pissed at the dealership. A good dealership would figure it out.

Total bull****. I remember seeing a thread about the same thing a while back. Ford requests pictures from dealership. Basically if there's a dead bug on the mirror they will deny coverage. I'm sure they have claims where there was damage from "impact" but they really need to start using common sense. Clearly from your pictures there was no impact that would of caused a failure. Keep complaining but be nice. Maybe ask for the Service manager.

The new rules for dealerships takes that out of their hands. Like the OP said, they were to resubmit pictures. Since its not the dealer causing the issue, call Ford directly.

That is crazy! Spend 65K, you are a great costumer and risking to lose future sales over a mirror is plain dumb by Ford. This is the new HMO of dealerships. A good dealer would have just ordered it, replaced it, with no questions asked. Looking at your buying history they are going to risk you as a future costumer and others who listen to your story. Sorry to hear about this easily fixable problem. Ed

Find another dealership. I've had tens of thousands of dollars worth of warranty work done on my truck. Had all the leather replaced because the seats were fading. Had my doors repainted because the paint was flaking and chipping off. This is just stuff on the interior. I've had issues under the hood and in the drivetrain as well. No issues at all. I'd demand a meeting with the person in charge of filing and taking photos for warranty claims, service manager, truck shop foreman, and possibly the owner of the dealership. Been there, done that.

I'm not sure why they're taking pictures of the mirror like that. If it doesn't fold, there's something wrong with the hinge mechanism. The gears on these mirrors are known to be crappy as they're all plastic. Spare parts can't be ordered for these mirrors. It's entire assemblies or nothing and these mirrors aren't cheap either.

I agree with Alberta Advantage. That dent should have nothing to do with the mirror opening and closing properly. Find a new dealership or go over their heads and speak directly to Ford. If that doesn't work, launch a smearing campaign against Ford and perhaps someone over there will come to their senses.
