Periodic Maintenance Schedule

I haven't looked in the owners manual (I probably should 'cause it's in there, right?) but, where can I find the schedule for changing out all the fluids in these trucks? It seems like every time I take the truck in (I have them do the oil changes), the service person tries to sell me hundreds, and I mean HUNDREDS, of dollars of fluid change outs. For instance, transmission flush, power steering flush, 4x4 service, etc. At what mileage do these services need to be done??

Look in your diesel supplement guide................ it's all in there flat out and plain as day..

All depends on your miles, so what they are recommending could be right, and I def wouldn't push any service intervals amd change the oil and fuel filters more than recommended.

Should be in your owner's manuals. There should be a schedule maintenance book. You can put your info in here and see what needs to be done, when.

The only 'scheduled maintenance' I saw in the diesel supplement guide was for the transmission and it says to flush the transmission at 150,000 miles - mine has just over 60,000 now. Also, I don't see anything in there for "power steering flush" or "front/rear differential service". To me, this sounds like overkill; I want to do the required maintenance AT THE REQUIRED TIME but this is a bit ridiculous. Sounds like they're just trying to soak me for more money!

I just had a tranny flush in my 6.4 at 60k mile service. I wouldn't think that the intervals between the 6.4 and 6.7 is that different but who knows. Maybe the 6.7 is the trick to go with...

Where do you take your truck for oil changes?

I have the local Ford dealership do the oil changes - it's easier to have them do it during the winter months.

My dealer is a 2 hr trip for me, so after the first couple oil changes, or whenever I change to syn then I get it done at a local shop, cause all I have to pay is for the oil.

Is that correct? It says my tranny fluid is good for 150K miles. Sounds kind of long. My 6.4 was every 30K and when I did it it made a noticeable difference.
