Platinum Leather on a Lariat

Can I put the Leather seating of a Platinum on a Lariat? Is the foam different or is it just the leather? On another note is the Platinum leather better than the Lariat or is it just the an appearance thing? I was also wondering if the Lariat stitching would hold up better over the course of time or the Platinum would because it has the Tuxedo Stitching.

To me the Platinum leather was way softer and every Ford leather I had before the Platinum was hard as a rock.

How do you feel it will hold up over the long haul?

I use to be a service advisor at a Infiniti dealer and that leather was very similar. It wore great. Not worried at all.

About time Ford stopped putting 30 year old half decomposed, hard as nails horsehide in the vehicle and then tell us its "premium" leather

Interesting...I thought the only difference in the leather was the word "PLATINUM" stitched into seats. I never did look at the Lariat leather in these new Super Duty's, but now that you mention it my '07 Lariat had harder leather than this Platinum and there was considerable cracking towards the end. Either way I imagine Ford would charge a ridiculous amount of money to put in new leather seats.
