I found out that it has to be COLD!! Like mine sat for 3 days in temps bellow 25 degrees not plugged in and when I started it, it went into high idle warm up for the first time.
I've never had mine do it either. Of course I try not to idle too much. I'd sooner just putt down the road (if you can) like a old man for a little while. It will heat up way faster then letting it idle
Mine goes on to high idle almost every time I start it lately. I'm wishing I had the supplemental heater to take the chill off, sometimes it's 20 min of driving before mine starts blowing heat...sometimes longer when it's 0* or less.
