Best/Cheapest Place to Get 5w40

This is not a what oil is best thread....

I was reading ford's manual and it looks like 5w40 covers all temp ranges from -20 to over 100 F. I wanted to see where you guys get your oil. I see a lot of places are selling full synthetic 5w40 but I'd like to stay with the synthetic blend Ford puts in the trucks. Any places you guys like that have great prices would be appreciated.

See if you can strike a deal with your local ford dealer parts counter. I can usually get at least 15% off just by asking for a discount.

The factory fill is 10W-30 synthetic blend on the 6.7L trucks, not 5W-40 from what I've heard. Nothing wrong with 5W-40 except it costs more. It does cover the -20 to 0 degree range where 10W-30 starts getting too thick. Here in MD we only get a few days below 20F, and only into the single digits every 2-3 years for a day or two.

Yea I am wanting it to flow better at cold temperature adn cold starts. I see that 15w40 is just as good for 20F to 100F. I am in TX and it rarely gets below 20. I think 15 may be ok if I can find a good one. I found these two and cant tell the difference so I just went to Valvolines site and one appears to be dino and the other synthetic...but I cant tell.

dino?

synthetic? or blend?

Most 5w40 you find will be full syn. The Valvoline Premuim Blue Extreme 5w40 is full syn. A lot if times places like Walmart will have the premium full suns at or below cost. I hate Walmart but they do have cheap. I've seen them selling Mobil 1 and Valvoline in the 5 quart jugs below cost. I know that because the oil on their shelves went through my warehouse. They get special national account pricing from the oil companies.
