newbie 4WD switch question

I recently bought a 2011 F350 King Ranch diesel (great truck!) to tow a 5th wheel camper. My question is on the 4WD switch. If I pull it out vs. not, the only difference I see is that a truck symbol appears on the dash. Is that correct? If an explanation is in the manual, I couldn't find it.

Thanks.!

If you pull it out, that engages your electronic rear differential lock. You can do this in two wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. It has a limited speed that it will not stay locked past that speed to prevent tearing up your rear end unless you buy the override from SPE
