headliner removal with sunroof '14 Platinum

anyone got any tips, i ordered the atomic LED strobe lights to swap out the factory cablights on our truck. I have installed a few sets of cab lights but just wondering if dropping the headliner of a truck with sunglass compartment and sunroof is any different. I dont want to break anything lol.

thanks guys, have a good one!

well my strobes should be here monday or tuesday so I will report back with what i find. I actually found a thread that said it was similiar to non-sunroof headliners and the sunglass tray and sunroof switches pop out of roof and unplug. I will try to get pictures but i will for sure have a written explanation on how to do it since i couldnt find anything and hopefully will help someone down the road.

Went ahead and started taking everything apart tonight. To get the headliner out, you have to remove a pillars(2 bolts in each handle behind the covers) then remove both sun visors. They take a torx bit. One side of each visor will have a wire. Let the visors hang until you can drop the headliner down to unplug them ford doesn't give you any slack to reach the plug without pulling headliner down. There are 2 screws behind the dome/map lights. First the clear lenses pop out, then gently pop the reflector piece out and then you will see 4 tabs that will allow the sunroof control assembly to drop out and allow you access to the two screws. Just take your time and you will be fine. I actually did it without breaking anything. Hahaha. I will post some pics in a few so you can see exactly what I'm talking about with the sunroof controls. There were two plugs that unplug also. Very easy and I am pumped to get the atomic led's put in. Lol

It's an awesome truck. It's my dad's toy. He had a 04 hummer H2 victory red limited edition with 30k miles. It was constantly having something wrong and we never drove it. Glad to say its the first and last gm we will ever own. So he bought the platinum and we sold the hummer.

And yeah we should. We usually do some diesel get togethers up here a few times a year. My buddy has been doing some sled pulling in Kentucky. Not sure when the next pull is though. Prolly really close to you.
